For joint pain Turmeric needs to be taken every day either in a capsule, eaten in food or taken as a drink. A warm drink known in India as ‘Golden Milk’ is a nice way to take it as you can also add other beneficial spices and it’s tasty and warming on a cold winter’s eve. Combine approximately half a teaspoon each of Turmeric, Ginger and Cinnamon (either fresh or dried) and simmer in a pan with 2 mug-fulls of milk (or a milk substitute) for 15 minutes, Add honey or sugar if needed. Drink 1 cup 2-3 times per day. Ginger is also anti-inflammatory and may also help keep colds at bay.
