Autumn / Winter Wild Herbalism workshop

October 26th 2025

09:30-13:30
Bevendean community garden

Take a deeper delve into the native plant medicines and energies of late Autumn with myself and nature-based facilitator Amy cox at these immersive herbalism and nature-connection workshops

Whilst sitting around a cosy bonfire under the trees, learn to make the amazing potent herbal immune tonic Fire Cider Vinegar which combines a range of powerful antimicrobial and circulation-boosting herbs and spices including ginger, chilli, horseradish, garlic and more, great for keeping colds and flu at bay in the colder months.

Learn what plants are in season at this time of year and try some other fun seasonal nature-connection activities to drop into the natural environment and celebrate this time of year.

If you’ve been on some of my previous Wild Medicine walks or short remedy-making workshops and would like to go a bit deeper into both the herbal plant knowledge and love being outside in nature this might just be for you.

Sunday August 31st 2025
Herbal Foraging Walk + Workshop. Make a Herbal remedy

1.30pm-4pm @ Bevendean Community garden
Focus: Late summer berries and seeds / Immunity-boosting remedies

This workshop will focus on the wonderful array of berries and seeds which we see growing in the wild at this time of year in late summer. You will also learn about other wild medicines in the form of trees, leaves, roots, barks and some late flowers.
You will learn to make a simple herbal remedy to take home.

“Amy and Jessie make a great team. On this inspiring and fun day w/shop we learnt lots about responsible foraging and the healing properties of the different plants. We all spent time with the plants really observing them and noticing which ones we were individually drawn to. Sometimes accompanied by birdsong or Amy’s folk songs.
It gave me the confidence to eat more wild plants and the salad and nettle soup we had for lunch was all so delicious and colourful”.

Thursday September 25th
Meno-Cafe at Melissa’s café

5.30pm-7.30pm
304 Ditchling Road, Brighton, BN1 6JG

Connect with other women and learn some useful self-care tips for supporting yourself holistically with natural medicine and nutrition during the menopause..

Whether you are peri-or post-menopausal, on MHT or not, going through a natural or surgically-induced menopause, or simply curious, you are very welcome.

At each Meno-Cafe Session I will give a short talk on a particular menopause-related health theme. There will then be time for questions and then time to share experiences and chat with other women over cups of tea.

A range of teas will be available for a donation

In my clinical practice I work with many women supporting them through their menopausal journeys and I am delighted to be opening up this space to share my experience and insights and allow women to share their experiences with each other to create a sense of community and support around what can be a tricky time in a women’s life.

PLEASE NOTE I am not qualified to give advice about Menopausal hormone therapies (MHT) also called HRT.
