About Me
My Qualifications
I have a First Class BSc Honours degree in Herbal Medicine from Lincoln University. This training comprised of medical diagnostics similar to that taught to doctors as well as the study of pathology, anatomy, herbal therapeutics, botany, pharmacology and nutritional therapy. This was in addition to 500 hours of practical clinical training.
I am a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists. The Institute ensures that high educational standards and professional standards are maintained by its members including ongoing professional development.
I offer regular Wild Herb Walks which are a lovely way for people to connect with the living plant medicine of their local area.
I attend ongoing professional training and am currently studying an advanced course in Medicinal Mushrooms which is an exciting new area of research with its roots in traditional Asian medicine.
My Backstory – How I got into Herbal Medicine
When I take it right back, I first encountered herbal medicine after visiting rural Jamaica aged 19. It was there that I first met people who used local plants as part of their everyday healthcare and who seemed to have a connection with and an understanding of the plants that grew around them. This sparked an interest which led me on a path of experimentation and self-study over many years – including an exploration of the native plant traditions of my own land as well as from around the world – until I trained to become a qualified Medical Herbalist in 2014.

I went to Jessie seeking support with intense menopausal symptoms. I found her to be a great listener, as well as knowledgable in her field. The herbs she recommended have done the trick and I am feeling a greater sense of well-being as a result of taking them. I recommend her highly.
Jessie has a naturally caring persona, and an easy questioning style, to ensure an in-depth very person centered approach – highly recommended!
